ah.. ahhhh..

choo.

have been feeling a little under the weather actually. didn't help that the office these days have been like a freezer. i feel quite pathetic.

yesterday was a bad day. i see red in the morning, i was late for work (altho the boss was later), suddenly hit by a flu bug, feeling queasy and uncomfortable at my tummy, splashed soap at myself, changed out of my bloody red jacket and pricked and cut myself with a stupid safety pin. how in the world do you cut yourself with a safety pin? or splash yourself with the viscous soap?..

well, today i still felt under the weather, and had a good mind to take a half day leave. but er, some people from the other department were a step before me. and the boss weren't happy that people are taking leave like that, and he even rejected an application for a leave for next month cos she took leave next week. well, ok, understandable, she's the head of that department, and that department has the tendency to take leave every week. to have everyone working on a day is like some families gathering for a Chinese New Year reunion dinner. that's how bad is the attendance i heard about the other department. so, in any case, i didn't take it.. cos well, i managed.

hectic day.

colleagues and i were talking about the superstar show today. i don't deny that my mouth was agape when the male champ was announced. well, of course i feel happy for him, and felt that he deserved to win. but; i thought, in sing-song wise, he's the champ, no doubt, but a superstar?

well, ya, there is stevie wonder and, who? bocelli? but i hardly think they're superstars or idols that young teenagers go gaga over. they have angelic voices (stevie wonder? er..), and that is prolly to make up for what they're lacking of..

i think the other thought he would almost definitely win. he's my colleague's good friend. so we were all digging up rumours and stuffs about him from her.

i think.. prolly the champ wouldn't have won if the judges have been so bent on putting him down. the audience and viewers can hear and see for themselves! this guy has given his best, and has known it, but, they still obviously try to bring him down. it pained me seeing him trying to smile feebly and vaguely at the judges' comments, when he thought he deserved much better than the rundowns they were giving him.

boy, i love his cover of 'Heaven Knows' by rick price. it was most touching when i saw the thought bubbles with numbers popping up above his head as he was singing his last song and desperately counting his steps, and not knowing where the cameras were or where to face.

but anyway, i think both will still land a singing contract.

same for the girls. obviously, the girl champ didn't do as well as the one who got kicked out. but she's pretty and all tho.. someone that teenagers can go gaga over. so, she's the champ.

o well.. an all rounder - someone who can prance, look pretty and work the crowds, or, a person who's really a singer..

did i mention 'hamster'?

oops, it's gone. it has staged an escape. and succeeded.

the first time it did, it was 'caught'. we were all sleeping. and my sister sleeping on the upper deck heard pattering just around her. and she woke up to find it behind her. being the 7th month, she was scared that 'something' lifted it out of the tank.

now we know. cos the 2nd time, it succeeded escaping. yes, at night while we were all sleeping.

that clever thing.

it was really desperate to get out actually. it was so fixated on getting out, it kinda pained me to see it struggle for the only opening. at the top. it was stretching with all its might to reach the top, it got quite long. ah haha.

anyway, it's gone. not a trace. my parents just hoped that it won't die within our house premises or else it'll stink. still remember the 'mickey mouse' blog i put up? ya, same theory.

and JX was telling me that his own dwarf hamster also staged an escape too. all like 'pinky and the brain' huh.

his hamster was funny. his was kept in a cage and the cage opening was in the middle of the top. and the door was left opened one day.. and to get to the opening..... the hamster did monkey bars. it succeeded! it was found finding its way around on the floor. and then put back.

poor things.

but JX said that at least his hamsters don't struggle like a looney from your hands and don't jump at the opening at every other moments.

o well. bye daisy. hope you have a good life out there. hope you stuffed enough food into your mouth to sustain your entire life. o yah, it's called 'daisy' cos it's a cow name. (quoted by my sister)

daisy: looking out into the sky.

to the dentist to the dentist

blogging so late, cos i need not sleep that early. cos i got half day leave tomorrow! cos i'm going to the dentist.

anyway, the national day holiday was great! i was so happy. i finally went to the beach with my boy and we cycled. and the day was beautiful. sunny, windy. clear blue sky. even though it didn't look too good earlier. nothing too 'national' though - apart from seeing red everywhere i go, that's about it. i didn't even catch the fireworks. was bathing. but the day was just plain good. i got a little burnt, and i almost forgot.. how it is like to be out in the sun and be burnt...

and we cycled to ...changi. and the road is so broad, and there's just us, and there are towering trees.. and the sun is beating down on us.. it doesn't even look singapore.

not really a thing to say when it was national day huh.

not many days like that left for me in my life, i think..

happy birthday singapore!

okay, i'm not really that patriotic or whatsoever. but at least, i've got a holiday! it has been eons since i last sang the national anthem, and i actually missed it. cos that national anthem kinda symbolises my childhood days, when i sang, or rather, murmur half-heartedly every other day.

there was once that the whole school was really singing the national anthem with pride, and it actually feels good. like we're all proud to be singaporeans. but i forgot what was the reason that we were blaring out.

anyway.. happy national day!

back to the topic. are we that proud to be singaporeans? if we are, then we should be embracing our own local products, locals instead of foreign workers, learn singlish instead of emphasizing on british english, promote local art and culture instead of bringing in other nations' ones, promote local artistes and shows, instead of foreign ones!

well, singapore is still young.

till singapore reach that stage, i'll prolly be really old.. or long gone.

chocolate river

a very tantalising blog title right. makes me think about the chocolate buffet. only that i haven't been to it before, and can only imagine. but i'm sure, it will live up to my imagination.......

milo dinosaur suffices my chocolate cravings for the time being. a very cheap substitute - as compared to that buffet. prolly 40 times cheaper.

those who have watched charlie & the chocolate factory, don't tell me already. everyone who watched it told me about the chocolate river. my colleague, who is a self-proclaimed chocoholic, said she went to watch the show for that chocolate river only. i myself haven't watched it, and people have been telling me the show's good.

and my cousin last night was chanting "willy wonka, willy wonka..." beside my ear throughout dinner. in an attempt to sing the 'willy wonka' song.

they told me about the cute squirrels too.

speaking of squirrels, my sister just recently brought a hamster back. that little furball is named 'Cow' because she has the colours of a.. yes, cow. patches of brown on white. she is always attempting to escape. and it actually pains me, to see her trying so hard. and she has super long teeth. made me bled one time cos she bit me as i was having my breakfast blearily. that woke me up.

a picture of it? nah.

i like cats. did i mention that before? fat cats.

i like dogs too, but with short legs, and preferably big floppy ears. and preferably coffee brown, with black eyes and nose, and paws. and a healthy pink tongue.

JX and i said we're going to have a dog and a cat in the future. Ass will prolly think twice about coming to visit me then. ah haha. Kay loves dogs, but again, she hates cats cos she thinks that they're evil. so...

wouldn't it be like odie and garfield. ah haha... only that the owners are not dorks.

Mayday Mayday

the most experienced colleague was on leave today. and yah, everything was a little chaotic.

i was going nuts. but yah, i think i'm getting the hang of things. crazy Em on the ball. move away!

"do you want my namecard? here it is.." (don't call me)

"yes. yes. okay. hm. no problem. hm. bye bye!" (get over it already.)

"ring... ring..." (damn it! stop ringing you bloody stupid phone!!)

"yes. yes, i understand your plight right now. but i'm sorry, we can't do anything about it." (no, i'm not sorry, and it's your own damn problem. and yes, i didn't understand nor want to too. since it's your own shit.)

"no, there's no discount. it's a pricelist fixed by my boss. i can't do anything about it, sorry.." (NO, i'm not sorry. you set up a company, and you don't think other people are trying to rip a profit in their own businesses too except for yourself. what a dimwit. CHEAPSKATE!)

"ah ha. ah haa? hm.. yes. okaaay. hm." (zzzzzzzz....)

"jenny? okay, hang on please." (phew, not for me. )

"ha ha ha" (you bunch of dumb dumbs. that wasn't a feeble attempt to flirt was that? tiko peks.)

life is tough. hai..
